Everything we know about Google Pixel 7 And Pixel 7 ProWe have known this for some time – therefore, that big G showed them to us at the beginning of May during I / O 2022 – but not much. We know the design, which is a natural and slight evolution of the one seen on Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, the colors, the SoC which will be an evolution of the TENSOR stop chip, the information stops here among other things also for the Pixel Watch).
The technical data sheet, in short, Google has decided to preserve it for the actual presentation event, the one that will precede the launch of the two smartphones on the market scheduled for the autumn (also in Italy). But colleagues from 9to5Google they did one interesting find within the code of the Android Open Source Project, finding what should really be the characteristics of the screens that in Mountain View have chosen to mount on Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro.
Specifically, within the code, two new display drivers created by Google were found: C10 (Pixel 7, whose code name begins with “c”, and “Cheetah”) and P10 (Pixel 7 Pro, codenamed “Panther”). But the interesting thing is that after a further excavation, the specifications of the panels emerge, confirming what the new Pixels already say with the design, or the fact that the next generation of Google smartphones is born in the sign of continuity with the previous one, without particular upheavals.
What does it mean? Simple, that Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro will feature the same Samsung displays seen on Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, respectively (S6E3FC3 and S6E3HC3). Numerically, this results in a panel with a resolution of 1.080×2.400 and refresh rate a 90Hz for Pixel 7while Pixel 7 Pro will have a screen resolution of1.440×3.120 and refresh rate a 120Hz.
It should be noted, however, that there is another driver (S6E3HC4) linked to a display on which Google is working: since the relative parameters and resolutions and refresh rates are identical to that of the Pixel 7 Pro and 6 Pro screen, any improvements would have to possibly deal with other aspects, such as brightness for example.
