Mercedes-AMG GT Coupé, the new generation has been spied on at the Nurburgring

Mercedes work on developing the new generation of the AMG GT Coupé is continuing. This new sports car has now been intercepted during a test session inside the Nurburgring track. The car continues to feature a camouflage that does not allow too many details of the new design to be discovered. However, as we know, the new AMG GT Coupé is closely related to the new AMG SL recently arrived on the Italian market.

However, it should have a more aggressive look. In the past, when speaking of this model, Mercedes had promised that it would differentiate the Coupé from the Roadster well. Looking at the spy images, we notice that there should be a series of differences especially at the level of the front with a redesigned grille, new air intakes and headlights with different shapes. Details that will be better understood when the car manufacturer decides to present this new sports car.

In this regard, there are no dates yet but some rumors speak of the end of the year or the beginning of the next. Surely over the months we will know more. Returning to the car, the interior is not seen but it is very likely that they have strong similarities with those of the new AMG SL. Thus, we will also have the latest generation of the MBUX infotainment system with a large vertical touch screen.

And speaking of engines, the choice should fall on the most performing units present on the AMG SL today. Thus, the new AMG GT Coupé could have a V8 twin-turbo with 4 liters of displacement proposed in two power levels: 350 kW (476 hp) with 700 Nm of torque and 430 kW (585 hp) with a torque of 800 Nm. Therefore, engines capable of offering extremely high performance.

It is possible that an electrified version with a powertrain Plug-in. In the past, in fact, some spy photos had emerged of an AMG SL equipped with a hybrid solution. A model that thanks to the presence of an electric motor could offer even greater performance. All that remains is to wait for more news on the new generation of the Mercedes AMG GT Coupé.
