Prime Video, all the news coming in June 2022

We have already seen the news of June coming to Netflix, then to Disney + and now it’s time to talk about what Amazon Prime Video wants to reserve for us in the new month. There won’t be a lot of new content coming soon, but among these there is a pearl that many of you will not want to miss. We speak of course of the third season of The Boysthe most irreverent TV series about superheroes, based on the New York Times best-selling comic by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, has ever been created.

The Boys offers a fun and irreverent version of what happens when superheroes – famous as celebrities, influential as politicians and revered as gods – abuse their powers instead of using them for good. Intent on stopping the corrupt superheroes are The Boys, a group of vigilantes who carry out a heroic quest to uncover the truth about the Seven and Vought – the multibillion dollar company that runs these superheroes and covers all their dirty secrets. It is a struggle between the “powerless” and the “very powerful”.

The Boys season 3 cast includes Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Nathan Mitchell, Colby Minifie, Claudia Doumit and Jensen Ackles.

Based on the New York Times best-selling comic created by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, also serving as executive producer here, The Boys was developed by executive producer and showrunner Eric Kripke. Other executive producers also include Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Pavun Shetty, Phil Sgriccia, Craig Rosenberg, Ken F. Levin, Jason Netter, Paul Grellong, David Reed, Meredith Glynn and Michaela Starr . The Boys is produced by Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television Studios, in association with Kripke Enterprises, Original Film and Point Gray Pictures.

The gang returns for a hilarious second season of this irreverent animated comedy that follows the misadventures of four middle school students trying to find their place in the culture of the moment. It’s a modern take on the age-old struggle between adapting and standing out, bonding with your company of friends and giving your first kisses – even though it might be artificial intelligence that gets them. The series is created and produced by Matthew Hausfater, Aaron Buchsbaum and Teddy Riley. Among the guest stars of the voice cast of the second season there are among others Billy Porter, Zoey Deutch, Camila Mendes, Yvette Nicole Brown, Annie Murphy, Guy Fieri, John Leguizamo.

Summer in Your Eyes is a multigenerational drama centered around a love triangle that is created between a girl and two brothers, the ever-changing relationship between mothers and their children, and the lasting power of strong female friendships. It is a coming-of-age story about love, the first breakups and the magic of a perfect summer.

At the helm of the Prime Video series are showrunners Jenny Han, who also wrote the pilot episode, and Gabrielle Stanton. Han, Stanton, and Karen Rosenfelt are also executive producers, along with Hope Hartman, Mads Hansen, and Nne Ebong for wiip. The series is an Amazon Studios co-production and wiip.

Summer in your eyes stars Lola Tung, Jackie Chung, Rachel Blanchard, Christopher Briney, Gavin Casalegno, Sean Kaufman, Alfredo Narciso, and Minnie Mills, with Colin Ferguson and Tom Everett Scott.

Chloe follows Becky Green (Erin Doherty), who has long been observing Chloe Fairbourne (Poppy Gilbert) through her perfect social media images. Chloe’s enchanted life, adoring husband and successful circle of friends are always just a click away, and Becky can’t resist peeking into a world that contrasts so starkly with hers, where she cares for her mother, that has an early onset of dementia, in their small seaside apartment on the outskirts of Bristol, England. When Chloe suddenly dies, Becky takes on a new identity and infiltrates the enviable lives of Chloe’s closest friends to find out what happened to her.

Through her alter ego, Sasha, Becky becomes a powerful and transgressive heroine, a popular and well connected “someone” with life and loves that are far more exciting and compelling than the “nobody” who is like Becky. However, the fiction soon darkens and confuses reality and Becky risks getting completely lost in the game she is playing.

Chloe is a 6-episode, 60-minute series and is a co-production between BBC One, Mam Tor Productions and Amazon Studios. The series was created, written and directed by Alice Seabright, who is also its executive producer. Producer of the series is Joanna Crow (Giri / Haji) and the director of the second block is Amanda Boyle (Skins). Executive producers are Tally Garner (Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell) and Morven Reid (Pure) for Mam Tor Productions and Ben Irving for the BBC.

The One That Got Away is a new reality series Original in 10 episodes. It may seem like an impossible feat to track down “The One That Got Away,” but for these lucky singles, that dream comes true. In this experimental dating series, presented by pop icon singer-songwriter Betty Who, six people in search of their soul mate have the chance to explore a life of lost connections one by one. People from their past enter through “The Portal” to surprise them and try to fall in love.

The One That Got Away is produced by Amazon Studios and Fulwell 73. Elan Gale (FBoy Island, The Bachelor franchise) is executive producer and showrunner. Also Gabe Turner (The Late Late Show with James Corden, Jonas Family Roast) and Caroline Rose.

Chris Pine stars in this action thriller as Special Forces Sergeant James Harper, who is discharged against his will and denied his pension. In debt, with no options and trying to support his family, Harper enlists with an underground private military force. When the first mission goes wrong, he finds himself haunted and on the run, entangled in a dangerous conspiracy, trying to survive long enough to return home and discover the motives of those who betrayed him. In the cast of the film also Kiefer Sutherland, Ben Foster, Gillian Jacobs and Eddie Marsan.
